Ruby Roulette (she/her) does story-telling at its sexiest.
As a burlesque performance artist, HoopYogini™ instructor, and thrifty fashionista, I mix the taboo with the sacred both on and off stage. I have been a student of creative movement for most (if not all) of my life and find the language of the body to be the most honest and transformative.
Growing up in Cincinnati, I trained in theatre, dance, and circus arts. Through hoop dance, I found a deepened spiritual connection and doorway (round and open) into sacred sensuality. I studied physical theatre at The Commedia School in Copenhagen and often snuck in my hula hoop. While living in Prague, I discovered a passion for burlesque. I went from taking my first burlesque class to performing on stage at a Czech festival a few months later. Back in the US, I became a founding member and leader of the burlesque and drag troupe, Smoke & Queers, in Cincinnati and have since relocated to sunny Los Angeles.
As a queer, neurodivergent woman, I find many aspects of modern society to be absurd, and I lean into that absurdity in my art. Burlesque is my way of exploring the boundaries of femininity and social expectation while reclaiming my body and sexuality. My work explores radical self-expression, sensual living, and joyful creativity through mindful movement. I strive to break barriers and share the freedom that comes with unlearning social conditioning and accepting oneself FULLY so we can all declare ourselves wild, colorful, sexual beings on our own terms!
Outside of this corner of the internet, you can find me rhinestoning endlessly, baking, sifting through treasures at thrift stores and vintage shops, snuggling with my rescue kitten and talking about past lives with my love, THE Prinze Valentino, at our current home in North Hollywood.
I am vehemently anti-racist, anti-capitalist, anti-ableist, pro-woman, pro-LGBTQ+, pro-sex work. Compassion and inclusivity are non-negotiables.
ALL BODIES ARE BURLESQUE BODIES.
